I would tend to agree with the post quoted.

Whilst ou may think that the 13 year old is fine to do it alone... It really is a lot to expect them to do by them self.

Also, a point raised there by PanGalactic is a very good one. If they are both UMs then they will be seated next to each other. When you view a seating map, for example on an A320, you will see a block of 6 seats at the back of the plane, on the DEF side, they are specifically reserved for UMs and only released for others if needed, as in the flight is full. So, the children would be sat together, with crew and ground staff charged with their care.

If you choose not to, then you are taking quite a risk, in my opinion, by sending one outside the UM scheme.

But, under the rules, you are free to do so if you wish.
