Regardless of what I may think of PHG's tenure as AF CEO, given the way he has been dismissed by the board and its chairman, I would guess he (rightly IMO) feels he doesn't owe much, if anything, to the company, especially if the special conditions on flights are part of his severance package. Loyalty is a two-way street, and I don't think PHG now feels much loyalty to the AF board of directors.
