Are you sure? Our seat maps -- before they changed the planes -- showed only 10 seats in F. That sounds like the "new" 747s to me...

I agree, the 744 is better in J and Y in my opinion, upper deck J beats the 346 hands down (which is a dull long tube)...
Amenities are better on the 744 (fabric facecloths in loos, bar and snack area set up on upper and lower deck)...
The cabin is wider and if you sit where I sit, 16 AB JK - it's just different class (no pun intended)...
First on the 346 just feels a bit like SQ's first, forward galley's making noise, lack of intimacy etc.
Nothing beats the pointy bit on the 744.
