GreatPeer, I'm no expert but as I understand UG's the fare class does influence your position with regard to the window period. So if you're fare basis is higher than a PM/DM tix GM will clear before them. After it goes to gate control I'm not really sure if fare basis has much, if any benefit.
This is not true. Fare class (if lower than full Y) only matters within each medallion level (e.g. DM on T fare will be upgraded before PM on B fare, despite B being much, much higher than T). This fare basis pecking order (within each medallion level) carries through all the way until the flight departs.
