I love the FQ but loathe: paying the $$$ to stay at the W in there, the location of the other W near Harrahs, and the Westin's awkard, club lounge-less location. So I go with the Sheraton, which has awesome service and always a suite upgrade.
This property changes that. I hate the sleaze of Bourbon st, but I look forward to staying at it. Hope they do a proper retrofit, not just throwing on new wallpaper and linen.

I don't think a hotel on a street called "Bourbon" is one that is trying to attract an "upscale crowd"?
But regardless, there are upscale people that don't like spending lots of $$$ on a room that they are not going to remember in a few months anyways.
I've stayed at some very impressive, upscale 4 Points hotels are in Asia and the Middle East that were much nicer than many Westins in the USA.
