I am trying to book an award ticked RNO-PRG return.

The outbound works ok - RNO-SLC-JFK-PRG with 2-hour connections in SLC and JFK.

The return is seemingly impossible tho... there is zero availability on any day in June from PRG-CDG on the 7am morning flight (OK metal) so it can't connect to CDG-SLC-RNO which has good availability.

I have tried booking the return starting in MUC or ZRH which are reachable in a long day by train form PRG.

for the RNO-PRG and ZRH-RNO round trip I am getting an all-Y ticket for 250,000 miles. MUC is 170,000.

What gives? The chart says this should be impossible.

The best option I have found is 50K miles on American (+$580) but returning not to RNO, but YVR and then driving 1000 miles. Yuck.
