Some people used to fly out to the Gulf specially to do this, but after too much exposure, BA nixed these earning possibilities (there were some similar runs you could do in the Caribbean too) - can't remember now - about 4 years ago.

I think I would have flown out for those tier points! anyway,I'm going to have a look at the tier point run thread,but I'm guessing the only good way to get tier points is in the USA now.
