Does every airline at LAX have the constant troubles that Delta does?
Seems I'm on a two year run of being delayed on arrival at LAX when flying Delta. Seems there's never a gate available, especially if you arrive during a weekday afternoon. Last week, returned from Sydney and had to wait 20 minutes for a gate, only to have an problem with the jetway for another 10 minutes. When I fly domestic I usually return on weekday evenings and you can count on being delayed waiting for a gate. Forget about checking a bag because terminal 5 baggage claim is slow, slow by third world standard. I've waited +30 minutes before.
I flew United for years and they have a great operation at LAX. Maybe Delta is running too many flights through too few gates. Is the station manager a dimwit? Do other airlines struggle with the lack of infrastructure at LAX?
Don't get me started on the lack of concessions.
