It is probably worth checking the cost of a return ticket and cancelling the outbound for two people to get the Avios back if the price is less than or sufficiently close to the one way fare to make paying the extra in return for getting the Avios back worthwhile.

It is very common for one way fares to be more than or not much less than the price of a return.

During this busy time of year I doubt that either Avios opportunities will materialise or prices will fall.

So you will have to make your decision soon!
