Was just at San Diego last week. They are renovating the rooms right now. The "style" is a little old, but that doesn't mean the furniture is.

And what do you suggest they do to change the atrium and food service areas? Simply change the furnishings, or the business plan?

I totally agree with the kid comments. After San Diego, we went to PHX and ABQ. Both are jammed with kids.
