I can remember not that many years ago staying at Embassy Suites properties that were fairly nice by most travellers experience. In the past few weeks (I have no idea why our in-house travel agent is doing this) I've stayed at several of these properties in a wide geographic area (Birmingham, AL, San Diego, CA, Lincoln, NE) that have seemed to need relatively significant renovations. The San Diego location especially. The living room area furniture looked old and not in the best of shape, counter tops looked heavily worn, etc. I've stayed at lower-priced Hilton properties like Hampton Inns that were in better condition that the last few Embassy Suites stays. Anyone else noticing this as a trend elsewhere?
