That's easier said than done.
When I'm in one of these > 3 hour deals, the agents often say it takes up to 24 hours.

This is 2012. They're not exactly printing your tickets, stapling them together, putting them in an envelope, and running them through a mail meter.
They only need about 3 seconds, not 3 hours, to auth your credit card, generate an e-ticket number, and shoot out an email.
