Alas, I too finally gave up on IHG for similar reasons. I was actually called a liar by one of the PC reps regarding a purchase made at their on-line shopping mall.

Like you, I have been a PC member for over ten years. I even went so far as to e-mail the Americas President, Kirk Kinsell; he seemed genuine, but perhaps he's an ineffective leader?

Also like you, I have now shifted my stays to Hilton. My first stay at a Hilton property was last month at the Hilton Toledo (Spain). It was the best hotel stay I have ever had, no exageration. The staff was incredible, from the front desk personnel to the breakfast room staff.

I really wanted to stay with IHG due to familiarity/creature of habit; never had a bad experience with proprty staff, just CS. I suppose if IHG loses enough long-time clients (partners), then perhaps they will move to correct.

I'm burning the last bunch of IHG points I have on account later this year, then I will only use Hilton....I hope they continue to impress me.
