Marriott seemed to have a change of heart right at the end of the year and decided to offer the gift cheques for another year.

You have to have some level of status, platinum I think, but they may also be available for gold.

If you go to the Marriott web site, log in, then select Marriott Rewards/Use Marriott Reward Points you should see something like "Platinum Rewards" in a link over on the right side of the page. Click that link and the cheques should show up if they are available. I get offers for the cheques and some golf packages on that page.

Or, just call Marriott Rewards and ask about them. If you actually want to order the cheques, calling in is recommended as they will ship them to you overnight. If you just order online they come via US mail, and it's a thick stack of 20 of them in a flimsy envelope.
