I don't believe that every FA needs to be young or skinny like we see on many Asian carriers. However, is there a point when an FA's physique becomes an impediment to his or her ability to serve customers or care for their safety effectively in the case of an emergency? If so, can that serve as grounds for termination or would the unions be all over that?

I was seated in an aisle seat on a flight today, and one FA bumped into my shoulder with his hip every time he passed through the cabin. It was a real nuisance and almost caused me to spill my tea once.
