Using miles to book on Virgin

Hi all

Looking to fly Boston to London in October. I see on usairways.com that the damage will be 60,000 miles on Virgin Atlantic which offers nonstop service from Boston whereas US does not. That would obviously be my preferred choice.

Anyone have any experience using their US miles to book flights on VA? Anything I should be aware of?

It does not seem to be possible to do online and I gave up after a few calls and navigating the phone tree. I suppose this is a way for them to collect the phone booking fee.

Thanks
