Wouldn't it be a shame if 11C accidentally spilled his drink when the plane hit some turbulence?
I, personally, drop things all the time, even without turbulence. Too much typing.
That said, I wouldn't actually have a problem putting a jacket next to me on an empty seat if the guy weren't a jerk...
