how "good" a J product is really depends on the route. SQ's regional product is nothing special. Some people actually think the angled lie flat bed is very uncomfortable. The issue with Asian carriers is that there are so many different types of products of the same service class. Whether the flight is comfortable varies greatly among the different types of aircrafts that they use.
If you purely look at the flagship long haul products among the carriers:
1. SQ
2. OZ/ NH
3. CA/ TG
I would rank CA with TG because of CA's new 777-300ER Business products. The cabin layout seems to be very good. The seats are the same seats as Continental's BusinessFirst Seats, which I found to be very comfortable. CA catering is actually not that bad in business class. In terms of the soft product, frankly speaking, I have only been on CA business class for around 5 times, but every time I have received excellent service. The flight attendants have always been very courteous. I think most negativity that people experience is because of the language abilities of the flight attendants. It is not that they don't want to help you, but their language abilities shy them away.

OZ and NH are very similar. OZ and NH's lie flat products tend to be quite narrow for me, and I'm not the especially wide and tall type of person. Also, NH loves to heat up its cabin. Some OZ flights that I was on were like that too. So, if you cannot tolerate heat, you might find NH/ OZ flights to be uncomfortable. They both provide excellent soft products, but I prefer NH's catering.
