I hope that the renovation work they were doing when I stayed there a few months back under its old flag was severe because the property needed it desperately. That's my favorite section of Waikiki if I have to be stuck there and being just a block off the beach isn't a big deal at all, but the property was not in good shape when I stayed. That said, it was also under construction in advance of the re-branding.
The inside I'm not sure about (maybe Hyatt's site has some info on that). The outside did look decent, freshly landscaped and very clean. A couple guys that I was with who had been there since August were discussing how the property had been "all done over."
