Help. Flying with this d*mn hurricane

I am supposed to be on US flight #167 Philadelphia to Phoenix on Friday morning. The plane is coming into Philly from Toronto.

Given the expected path and timing of this **** hurricane:

I can't figure out if I should expect delays or total cancellation. US hasn't put Phl on its list of airports offering free reaccomodations, so they seem to think that the weather won't be too problematic.

I have never experienced this before, so how does it work? Is there a particular wind speed where they shut down the airport or do they just halt takeoffs and landings until the weather settles. If the hurricane is directly in the flight path, can they fly over (I don't think so), around, or do they cancel the flight?

Am I getting out of Philly on Fri AM or should I give up altogether?!?! US wants roughly $1,000 to change the tickets to Thursday or Saturday, plus I won't have my upgraded first class seats. What to do?
