For pity's sake don't tar all BAA security employees with the same brush!

One of my pet hates of this forum is this sense that BAA security people (or 'goons' as they are often referred to here ) are treated like some sort of airport underclass somewhere below baggage handlers.

Why not try interacting with one or two of them the next time you go through the fast track... you'll actually find some very friendly and courteous human beings in the mix.

I've had bad experiences with BAA security for sure and the examples above are terrible, but I've had plenty of very good experiences too.

And it's pointless suggesting that everything is rosy overseas. TSA agents in the US can be a very mixed bag...

Point is that with the constantly-updated regulations they are tasked with enforcing I think they actually have a pretty difficult job remaining friendly and polite in the face of some of the abuse or at the very least condescension and disgust from pax I've observed over the years...
