One small point here. AA 154 is NRT-ORD then ORD-BOS. AA153 is the flight you want from ORD-NRT.

Thanks. I have the reservation until tonight (15th). We'd book except for the situation mentioned above.
The risk is simply too high. No "soft" landing if you don't get the SWU.
This is just a spring break trip to "somewhere". The wife would not be too pleased if I turned it into a budget busting, butt bursting hell ride to Japan. Especially after I flew 10x to LAX (EXP) for the sole reason of avoiding this type of travel.
Just saying this stuff out loud to keep my fingers off the "roulette" purchase button.
