How many miles for FLL-EWR flight with stop in ORD on same flight number?

Hi! I hope I'm not interrupting a discussion but I have a question that I'm sure somebody with more experience will be able to answer:

I got a good deal on a CO-operated flight (booked as a UA code-share) from FLL to BOS with a stop-over in EWR. So far, so good. Now I think the reason it was so cheap is that FLL-EWR is via ORD, which seems like an odd routing:
Depart:
8:30 a.m.
Tue., Feb. 28, 2012
Fort Lauderdale, FL (FLL)

Arrive:
3:25 p.m.
Tue., Feb. 28, 2012
New York/Newark, NJ (EWR - Liberty)

Flight Time:
6 hr 55 mn

OnePass Miles/Elite Qualification*: 1,073 /100%

Flight: CO1574
Aircraft: Boeing 737-800
Fare Class: Economy (G)
Meal: Snacks for Purchase
No Special Meal Offered.
1 Stop. Time on the ground in Chicago, IL (ORD - O'Hare) is 56 mn.
My question is whether I will really only receive 1073 miles for FLL-EWR and not mileage for FLL-ORD-EWR. I understand that this is the same flight number but I was in a similar situation with a UA metal flight last August when BOS-SFO and SFO-LAX had the same flight number, and were also displayed as a single leg BOS-LAX in my UA profile. However, there I got mileage credit for BOS-SFO and SFO-LAX separately.

Can anybody help me there? If I don't get more mileage, I might try to SDC for a later flight and stay in the sun a bit longer...

Thanks a lot!
