Are 1A and 1K seats more turbulence prone?

Mrs C and I have been in 1A and 1K seats on 747s on 3 occasions now and we seem to experience more turbulence than normal. We noted that the seat belt sign did not come on for most of the period that we were experiencing the turbulence. We wondered if those at the back (including the pilot and crew) were subject to the same turbulence.

I am sure an FTer with more knowledge of planes or more experience sitting at the nose of a 747 would soon clarify this for us.
