I came to Hyatt from Hilton several years ago and have been very happy with the decision (if you can live with fewer properties). Hyatt customer service is top notch. I think you may have had a stretch of bad luck. I've never had a problem with bed choices - in fact that is one of the diamond guarantees.
I would say don't give up hope. It's a different culture and things work a bit differently than Hilton.
Thanks for the feedback. I'm gonna keep at it and see how it goes. As far as the bed choice, since I was booked in a double, I think that's what I am guaranteed. The king was only a request. I think it would have been different and would have received compensation if I had booked a King and received two doubles(i.e. the guarantee is for the type of bed booked, not the bed type preference as I understand it)
