I have done CX to Karachi and would do EY if I had to do it again. I also thnk AUS-ORD-AUH-KHI would be the way to go. Wife flew JFK and ORD to AUH on EY in F and thought the product was great

It is a simple two stop journey. Far easier than the other routings you are looking at.
You can earn AA miles on EY.
You won't be able to use system wides on the long flight, however.
If you want to use an swu over the Atlantic and are willing to triple-connect, you will need an extra stop...but will have plenty of gateway cities to work with, not just lhr. AA and EY both serve mxp, fra, cdg...so consider connections in each of these.
