Agreed, this is definitely the best way to do it if you can - that way if you have any issues with the local Hertz office trying to charge you an extra day's rental you can show them your booking confirmation showing those extra hours included. Worst case if they still insist on charging and extra day so you can take up the rental then you'll be able to claim it back from Hertz themselves (as happened to me).
