Blacks have been discriminated against in many occupations, including aviation, for many years. On the other hand, I don't think there has been any systematic discrimination against women pilots. Rather, they are underrepresented because they just aren't interested, didn't want to join the military, preferred to become stewardesses, etc. Therefore, I personally find "and the pilot is BLACK" to be more offensive than "and the pilot is a LADY". But that's just a personal feeling, and I can see why some people may be offended by both.
