No, I just replied pointing that out because I've seen people express such a belief in other threads on FT.
When people reply here, I think many of us try to do so not just for the person asking the question, but for everyone else reading it now and in the future.
Never once did I mention that I have a right to stand-by or say that BA must allow because of what the alliance page said. Rather, I just asked to clarify because information appeared on oneworld.com that contradicted some of the information here.
Sorry, what bit on oneworld.com contradicted?
And yes, where I come from, standing by is a common and regular occurance in the US.
Indeed, which is another reason why I emphasised what I did. [Again, not so much for you, but for everyone reading this at any time.]
Let me copy and paste what I said, just so you are aware that I am not saying i am entitled to anything which you clearly put so much thought into from the above post:
"is it possible for an AA PLT to standby on an earlier BCN/LHR flight?" (extracted from original post).
Thank you all for your responses.
And, other than asking for clarification as I wasn't sure if there was a IB flight in your booking anywhere, etc, I replied saying:
"As a general answer, no, BA does not support standbys."
Again, I then gave a comprehensive reply as I think they benefit everyone. When I've been looking for info, I've certainly found the existing FT threads where people have given comprehensive answers far more usefull than highly specific replies without any explanation / reasoning.
Certainly didn't think you were claiming you were entitled.
