As I had hoped, and consistent with BA in the UK, domestic connections in Spain do not count as an extra sector within a Reward Flight Saver.

So BOD-MAD-ALC-MAD-BOD in Business cost 18000 Avios plus 34 euros. (The same itinerary would have been €1444 for cash only!)
.
¿Qué?
According to Iberia's site it cost 36 000
While BOD-MAD return cost indeed 18 000
which suggests indeed that domestic connections in Spain do count as an extra sector

While on ba.com it says 18 000 and you can book it online without problem.
