I've said it many times about the benefits of EWR but I would like to emphasize one major advantage of EWR that CX should know. EWR serves a market of people that are rich enough to afford Premium Economy. People that lives in New Jersey and have the disposable income to travel to Asia are typically your upper-middle class. While there are no bankers or wall-street tycoons, but there's a mass number of upper-middle class that yearns for a great airline that provides great service with Premium Economy. Yes, these people can afford to pay $2000-$3000 on a round-trip ticket for good overall experience.

If CX doesn't have Y+, I would say putting all the flights in JFK may make some sense. But if CX is serious about making Y+ money, EWR is the port they want. Or else I can imagine Y+ to suffer the fate of the current J - when it's crowded it's mostly with op-ups due to oversold Y rather than straight revenue tickets.
Just out of curiosity - what made you think JFK flyers wouldn't fly y+? Or less likely than flyers from nj? Never lived in the areas, so it would be good to learn more.
