Does AS still do status matches? My emails seem to be going into a black hole. I had also sent a couple of other emails to mileage plan to get partner credit on a car rental over the last few months and again, radio silence. I wonder if anyone is getting any sign of life writing to mileage plan.

Yes, status matches are still done, but you have to send proof of your current status on the other carrier. Did you do so? If you'd like to follow-up, I'd recommend a call to Customer Care at 1-800-654-5669 during business hours Monday through Friday.
