I am renewing my passport and had a friend at work take my picture with my digital camera against a white wall.

I used http://www.epassportphoto.com/ to frame and center them. Brought them to Walgreens and printed them for $1.

Funny enough there's no 2x2 option for photos on the Walgreens kiosk- smallest is a "wallet size." I asked the girl to just enter her passport code so I could get 2x2. They printed to that size and the charge was for two regular prints.

29 cents at Walgreens > anything other than free. And I still have the extras, and the file, for any other time I need 2x2 photos of myself.

If anyone is interested, here's the process that I took with epassportphoto

I didn't even use a web site, I just put the cropped photo into a 2x2 frame in Microsoft Publisher and printed it myself, on my home Kodak printer with Kodak photo paper. The hardest part was finding a place with a blank white background, since I have bookcases and furniture against the walls; I wound up hanging a white sheet in front of a couple of bookcases.
