The taxi will be more expensive. They might want you to pay extra for them to return to NJ. I would advice car service. I've used Dial 7 and have called them in advance to make a reservation. When you have gone through immigration, give them a call. Customs is a mere walk through.
Car services will know that your flight is delayed so don't worry about it. When you're reserving, let them know you'll be on an int'l flight. If you're American, going through immigration will be quicker than if you're not. If you're American and sitting toward the front of the plane, that's even better.
