What's the harm? All you're doing with such a booking is trying to increase the odds that *IF* there is an open seat it's between two people who will cooperate in sharing the benefit. You're not taking anything away from anybody, what's selfish about it?
There's always going to be the guy who doesn't get an aisle seat because OP booked one, and even when OP moves someone who booked later (presumably) will take that aisle seat. You could say that there's no net gain or loss for passengers as a whole, but there will be one lucky and one unlucky passenger.
