AS miles cannot be used to upgrade flights on any existing partner (even AS' closest partner DL), so it's highly unlikely that you will be able to use them to upgrade EK flights.
You should expect to be able to redeem AS miles for an EK award ticket in Y or J, and perhaps F if we're very lucky. The award chart will be posted later this year.
