Prior to October 2011 I used to see JAL have lots availability for LAX NRT route for anytime about 5-6 months out (almost daily). Then all of the sudden, it disappeared entirely. I was able to secure a JAL F on my desire date back then using AA miles but now no more. I guess they changed their strategy on releasing award seats to its JMB /OW partner members.
