Help with miles on semi complicated flight.
I have to get from YVR to DUR on March 7th. As it turns out, AC.com won't accept DUR as a destination and it has to be booked through an agent, and built by hand.
I have an itinerary almost ready to go, but am trying to figure out ho many miles it would get vs a ready made booking on United.
Aeroplan Elite, and it looks as follows:
Outbound:
YVR - YYZ (AC 180) L
YYZ - ZRH (AC 878) L
ZRH - JNB (LX 288 but operated by Swiss International) L
(final flight to DURBAN is SA but not on this PNR)
Return:
JNB - ZRH (LX 289 again operated by Swiss) S
ZRH - YYZ (AC 879) S
YYZ - YVR (AC 033) S
I'm trying to figure out if the LX legs will book under fare class rules for swiss or LX for mile accumulation? It will be booked on 014 AC stock.
Both of those swiss legs are fairly long, so it would suck to get screwed out of that many points. It can't figure out if they will book at 0%, 50% or 100%.
Also, this is booking in around $1900, while a united/Swiss on cheaptickets was showing about the same price, but i'd get 0% miles on one of the long legs, the others would be 100% as far as I can tell. I'd prefer to stay on AC as much as possible however for upgrade purposes.
Thanks in advance.
