iPhones use something called Gorilla Glass. Or they use to there's some debate if they started making their own recently or use something else. The company that makes the glass has an NDA with apple and no longer lists apple as a current customer. But, apple is so secretive it may or may not use it anymore. Glass can take a beating. I've had iPhone 3gs, 4 and 4s and never any problems.

That said I've never used this personally but everyone says the invisible shield is the best. I've seen it in person and it's great. Look around you can normally find discounts/coupons then again front coverage is 14.99-19.99 depending which one you want. Also, look on their website they have kiosks in malls that will install it for you, not sure the charge.
