This happened to me too, except I had to cancel a ticket because I was diagnosed with cancer. I provided documentation from my doctors, but AC still refused to refund the ticket.

Needless to say if I ever see them lend their corporate name to cancer-based charities I'll be pretty mad, as it's clear they're not even willing to support their own paying customers who are stricken with this terrible disease.
