Not sure where you're renting or what your dates are but try the discounts thread above to find the best rate. Given my experience with National I will gladly pay a few bucks more to get a lower mile vehicle that I like and chose myself.
Yeah...i usually try and search for a post before starting a new thread..but sometimes, I just have no idea what it would be under (case in point i started a new thread in the Amex MR that was moved). I've learned over time to search first, then ask.
I am looking for a rental either out of Vegas or PHX for a week in May. Unfortunately, using all the promotions and stuff, it is still a good $100, if not more, than Avis. My best bet is to probably reserve the Avis one and then wait for last min specials when I decide where i'm flying to. The last minute specials with National are pretty darn good, if you can hold off that long. I usually save at least 40%, or more.
