Indigo London Tower Hill (UK)

Indigo London Tower Hill (UK)

What is your Priority Club status?
Platinum Ambassador

Were you happy with the hotel?
Was second stay. Perfect like the first one - both have been reward nights. Location is right between underground stations Aldgate and Tower Hill. On the weekend really silent, but a lot of cafes, shops and pubs closed. A lot of busses will carry you to "vibrant" London on weekend. Afterwards you are returning to a suburban silence.

Which room did you book and which room did you receive?
Booked the standard available reward room, received larger executive room on 3rd floor (back view but to silent street). First stay was top floor room with view to Minories Street and bus station.

How are the rooms?
I really love the Indigo concept. Very individual room designs. Rooms were both large compared to other hotels of same price range.

How is the exec. lounge?
N/A

What was good and what was bad?
Good: Features available you might miss in other hotels (at least in this price range). Free non-alc-minbar (refilled every day), Nespresso (but just two capsules per day; on the other hand, being german I always think of the environmental issue :-); so two capsules were enough), two newspapers per day (excludes sundays) and free WiFi (worked perfectly with my iPodTouch).
Bad: The bathrooms are also designed in a modest modern way, but they forgot some storage spaces. If you spend a long weekend with your other half there, you might get a flashback to scholar youth hostel days, when you carried your wash bag from your sleeping room to the joined bathroom. Where to put all your stuff?
TV in room offers some 30 channels - but only UK programs available plus "Russia Today" and "CNN Int'l". I missed "France 24", "Deutsche Welle TV" and "Al Jazeera English" in an international city like this. The Olympics are coming up, why do not go a bit more international?

Value for $ or Priority Club Points?
Very good value for money. Unfortunately they "upgraded" this hotel to 35000 points per nights. We were lucky to have booked it for 25000. If rate is ok, I or we will come back.
