For your information there are 3 CX flights that leave for LHR before the CX253 departs the next afternoon.

The evening of 3rd March has CX251 leaving at 23:55, and CX255 leaving at 01:05am.
The next morning on 4th March there is CX257 leaving at 09:15am.

All 3 of these flights depart before CX253, so if you wish to lessen your layover and there is availability, you should switch to an earlier flight. I recommend CX251/CX255 as it means you don't need to spend the night in HKG.
