Seized, I was referring to forfeiture.
I consider the disruption to business, the cost of attorneys, settlement costs, etc. to be a forfeiture. Perhaps the plane was returned in the end, but there were still substantial costs borne by the company.
Same applies to a rental car/truck company, though I suppose it could be argued that rental of the conveyance to an individual allows for a greater level of diligence than just transporting a person in a common carrier.
