Tuesday: LGA to IAD, 3 hours in IAD then Business class on Ethiopian Airlines to Addis Ababa arriving Wednesday morning. 24 hours in ADD and then ADD to JNB business class. I have plenty of SPG points to stay at the Sheraton which looks really nice, but I know next to nothing about Addis Ababa. Anyone know if it is worth a day trip?

The main advantage is that instead of 16 hour flight (potentially in coach) and then a 5 hour drive to safari, its a quick 3 hour flight from ADD to JNB. Any comments would be welcome. I won't be offended if you say "just suck it up in coach on SAA". Thanks
I find it so hard to get the business class seat on this flight too. Last time I opted to just get the business seat on the JNB to LHR and then from there on to NYC. I have to say, the business class on SAA is really nice, I was very impressed by it. It's miles better than the biz on Ethiopian airways out of ADD to DC.
