Try as I may, I just can’t find anything negative to say about my recent stay in Pattaya Hilton. I only spent one night there but I wish it was longer. The building itself is impressive and it is centrally located. Upon arrival, I stopped at the reception desk on the 16th floor and was immediately escorted to the executive lounge for check-in ( I am a diamond ). From the lounge balcony, drink in hand, I gawked at the beautiful view of the beach and the boats below. After formalities of the check-in have been magically taken care of I was again escorted to my room. It was located on the 31st floor, overlooking the swimming pool many floors below. My reservation was for a King Deluxe Room but I suspect I was upgraded a category or two ( I never asked for an upgrade ). The room was airy and modern with great views. It had a small balcony with a comfortable chair and a table. Inside the room there was a basket of fresh fruit, a welcome letter from the management and (2) business newspapers. I liked the robe, slippers, fancy single-serving coffee machine, nice tray of toiletries, fresh flowers, numerous water bottles, nice safe with internal lighting, good quality make-up mirror, separate shower and toilet room, nice bathtub and a very comfortable bed. A second flat screen TV was built into the bathroom mirror. A welcome gift was delivered to my room in the afternoon, with some sweets and chocolates IIRC.
In the evening I stopped for a quick drink at the Executive Lounge which was not crowded at all. I had the balcony with its fluffy plush chairs practically to myself.
At night the room was quiet except for a brief period of fireworks that lit the skies at about 10 PM.
In the morning I decided to have breakfast at the hotel restaurant instead of having it in the lounge. Good decision! Wonderful selection of breads, pastries, noodle soup station, Asian foods, American foods, fruit, eggs, and … (5) kinds of bake-to-order pancakes! There were at least (4) stations and about (10) cooks preparing made-to-order breakfast items. The interior design of the restaurant and the hallway connecting it to the hotel are beautiful. Light fixtures, furniture, wall decorations, water fixtures are all unusual and stunning even if you don’t appreciate the “ultra-modern” style. The restaurant feels very cozy inside but it also has a big open deck with gorgeous views of the beach and the water.
Before departure, around 10 AM, I went to look at the infinity pool and liked it: quiet, peaceful, and almost empty.
In summary, I think Hilton Pattaya is a very fine hotel. I would not hesitate recommending it to anybody. The Pattaya city itself… well, that’s another story.
