They are killing me. I'm a Plat on CO/UA but I know live in Canada (which is quite lovely) and my tightwad travel planner inevitably books Tango fares. You get absolutely no benefit from a mileage plus or elite status perspective. At least on CO/UA you earn 100% mileages/elite status on their deep discount fares.
I would give the employer notice that I will not fly on T fares. Period. Any employer nowadays who expects their staff to travel frequently and not respect the "rules" of the travel game needs to get some basic education. Maybe AC should run employer travel seminars. Or maybe they should just relegate these stupid T fares to AC Vacations.
