well... at the gate door, the agent took the carry-on, put a tag on it, wrote "MIA" as the destination and off it went.... I picked it up at baggage claim in MIA. she said it was a crazy day... flight was full... all overhead space full... by the time she got to mine, she had already gate-checked 70+ carry-on cases!
