Nah, generally they are just as modern and safe as their western counterparts, at least for any scheduled service. I do wonder why they don't put more information up, even if the majority of the passengers the sole thing they will care about is the flight times.

If I recall, and I can't find the source for this anymore, it was/is something like north of $2000 each way. They probably aren't expecting to fill up the cabin, but especially if it will be a direct flight to Tokyo it seems like they easily could if they priced it right.
