+1 to Finz! Have some bugs while you're there yummy!

We stayed at the Sheraton Mirage, I thought it was fine. Very tropical, nice staff, great pools, nice beach. The decor is very Miami Beach circa 1980, I didn't mind. The rooms were nice, huge tub, sitting area. Pretty good bed, flat screen TV, wireless in the lobby. Skip the restaurants here, the ones in town are just a lot better. Unless you're using SPG points, I would go with one of the other hotels listed above, they all looked much chicer, probably better for a honeymoon.

We used Calypso Pure Snorkle and loved them. Only 30 or so people on the boat, nice sized boat (although I have no issues with sea sickness), good buffet lunch, great guides. There is no scuba on this boat which keeps the crowd smaller. This was my favorite activity during the 3 weeks I just spent in Australia. The reef is beautiful and I really enjoyed snorkeling there.

We rented a car which was nice to have, the drive up to PD is gorgeous. Also enabled us to do a self drive into the Daintree. I enjoyed the drive and being able to explore/wander on our own. Stopped at an ice cream place in there (the first one on the right that you come to coming from PD) and got some AMAZING Ironbark Honey ice cream. My fiance has mentioned that ice cream no less that 10 times since being home.

There's also a place called Hartley's Crocodile farm on the Capt. Cook Highway to PD from Cairns that we stopped at. It was $30 to get in, so we flipped a coin. I am sooo glad that it landed on the side to go in! It's not just a crocodile farm. They have free roaming kangaroos and wallabees that you can pet and feed. Got to pet/take our picture with a koala. It was a lot of fun for us Americans! Great way to spend a few hours!

Enjoy planning! PD is a very romantic place! I got engaged there, so I'm sure it will be equally romantic as a honeymoon spot!
